This is NOT normal
I spoke recently with a business owner who had not heard from their accountant in eight months
Eight months!
No check in. No mid year update. No heads up about anything coming up
Just silence
And the worst part? They thought that was normal
They had convinced themselves that accountants just do not really get in touch unless it's an emergency or a deadline is looming. That chasing for answers is just part of the deal. That feeling like a low priority is something you put up with because everyone is busy
It is not normal. It is just common
You should not have to chase your accountant. You should not dread sending an email because you are not sure it will be answered. You should not find out about things that affect your business after it is already too late to do anything about them
