Here’s what really causes mortgage delays.

Here’s what really causes mortgage delays.

After 30 years in finance, I know most professionals take pride in what they do and genuinely want the best for their clients.

As a mortgage broker, I see this almost every week.

A client contacts me with an “urgent” need. They want speed, accuracy and a smooth process. I explain that I provide a fast, compliant and affordable service.

Then reality hits.

The client wasn’t actually prepared for the pace they asked for.

Getting a mortgage or remortgage can be stressful. The UK mortgage process can take months, and while lenders, brokers and solicitors all play a part, many delays are caused by missing documents, slow responses or unclear information from the client.

So, if you want a faster turnaround, preparation matters.

  1. Prepare your documents in advance.
  2. Respond to broker and lender requests quickly.
  3. Follow instructions carefully. We only ask for what’s needed, and we’ll usually give clear guidance on how to provide it.

Speed is a team effort.

If you or someone you know needs mortgage support, please keep me in mind.

I don’t charge upfront broker fees, and I specialise in mortgages for self-employed people.
