Why Trying To Feel More Confident Is Still Just Trying

Why Trying To Feel More Confident Is Still Just…

One of the most meaningful aspects of this work is witnessing genuine transformation.

In my experience, many people assume they simply need to “be more confident” or “cope better” when in reality, the challenge often lies much deeper. What presents on the surface as self-doubt, fear, or hesitation is frequently connected to long-standing protective patterns that have become deeply familiar over time.

I’ve been supporting someone who had lived with severe fears for many years, and those fears had impacted several important areas of life, including:

  • speaking to others and socialising

  • performing confidently at work

  • trusting themselves

  • feeling secure in their relationship

We’ve been working together since October, and within six months they experienced a breakthrough they once believed would be impossible. They are now in a position where they FEEL FREE, take bold actions and experience NO FEAR to speaking to another human.

That is the value of working at the root of the issue, rather than only managing the symptoms.

When deeper patterns begin to shift, people often notice meaningful changes in the way they show up in everyday life. Confidence becomes more accessible. Self-trust strengthens. Relationships feel less charged. And situations that once felt overwhelming begin to feel much more manageable.

This is why I believe so strongly in root-cause work. Real change tends to happen when we stop focusing solely on surface-level coping and begin addressing what is actually driving the pattern underneath.

I genuinely find it incredibly rewarding to support clients as they move towards greater freedom and self-connection. It is always a privilege to witness that kind of shift.
