Companies House ID Verification for Property…

If you own a limited company, you must comply with new government ID regulations, which came into law in November 2025. I heard that the government have taken away property for non-compliance, but there does not seem to be any evidence to support that. Anyhow, get it done ASAP and stay compliant - then that's one thing less to worry about. How to do it? Type into a browser 'companies house verification ID' and it will lead you to a one login website where you can start the process.

You must verify your identity with Companies House when legally required (e.g., before acting as a director or filing certain documents).

If you fail to verify by the deadlines, you could be committing a criminal offence and may face:

Fines (criminal or civil penalties) imposed by Companies House.

Companies House may note on the public register that your identity is not verified.

You may be unable to file confirmation statements, register a new company, or take up a director/PSC role until you comply.
